Chelsea Football Club has show off their new club kit for the 2022/23 season after uncertainty surrounding their executive sponsor.
As fans expectation might be , the classic design is essentially plain blue all over with the Henley collar, the Nike swoosh and the main shirt sponsor Three in white. The collar also features turquoise lion detailing in a nod to Drake adding the iconic 'lion rampant regardant' to the club's badge.
The strip honours title-winning Chelsea manager Ted Drake, who took the last regime about 70 years ago this year before modernising the club and sealing a first ever English First Division crown in 1955.
A club statement read:
"It is 70 years since Drake joined Chelsea as manager in 1952 and his influence can still be strongly felt at Stamford Bridge, a theme continued by our new home kit, with several features a nod towards the innovative changes he made in modernising the club, producing one of the biggest turning points in our history.
"It was Drake's work to revolutionise the club off the pitch that did much to cement his lasting legacy at Chelsea, and that is honoured in our new home kit for 2022/23."
